How are you planning to update your wardrobeand look for the new season? In this post, we are going to talk about some ofthe spring 2019 fashion trends and together we will mix colorful clothing itemsin modern, but convenient and chromatically balanced looks. I will also tellyou what inspired me and the item I found most difficult to spot.

In thefirst post of the series dedicated to this spring’s trends, we focused on the modernutility style and remained on a safe ground from the chromatic point of view. TodayI invite you to make room for colours. I love outfits that use colorful printed items as central elements andaccessories in the same color palette. I find them sophisticated. This is the exact reason why Iwanted to provide you with two looks featuring a wide range of colors, fromwhite to black, passing through yellow and orange bright tones.

Inspired bythe Prada and Moschino fashion shows, the outfits that I am going toshare with you today are an expression of past styles and techniques with amodern twist.

The tie-dyetechnique was probably discovered by mistake. It is an old method of partial dyeingof fabrics. I have always linked the psychedelic spirals to the ’60s or ’70s andthe hippie movement. This year, it’s back in style in a new version. It wasembellished with new shapes and overlapping patterns this time. For the firstoutfit, I chose a deep V neckline maxi dress with a ribbon knotted on the backas the central element. Its pattern echoes the tie-dye pattern in countlessshades of green and orange. Its line makes it perfect for those of you lookingto draw the attention away from a rather large waist. Considering the vibrantpattern of the dress, I used solid-color accessories, apart from the hat. Thecolor block hat and the soft boots add further novelty to the look. Speaking ofprices, aside from the boots that cost almost as much as all the other itemsput together, I would say they are pretty convenient. The total cost ofthis look amounts to 197 euros.
Maxi dress: Anna Field
Crossbodybucket bag: Amazon
Cone heel knee-highboots: Stradivarius
Color blockhat: Sisley

MoschinoSpring Summer 2019 was the fashion show that I enjoyed more than others in the sameFashion Week. The Parisian looks were aesthetically clean and only embellishedwith these simple apparently random doodles. Jeremy Scott’s patterns in brightcolors impressed and inspired me to create today’s second outfit because they alsotalked about fast fashion and the extremely short amounts of time availablebetween two fashion shows. Speaking of the Spring/Summer 2019 collection, thedesigner stated: "Fashion is going too fast! There’sa cruise collection after another collection, you have another show, and acapsule..." "I couldn’t get it done this season! All I have are sketches! So, I’mshowing you the sketches of the collection." (Vogue

This is whyI really wanted to use an item with a similar pattern in one of the outfits forthis spring. I have to confess that the sweater dress with brush strokes print wasthe hardest to find! But it was worth it: you can now find it for half price. Ithink it’s a great choice for rather robust silhouettes. If you plan to drawattention to the slender legs, two-tone optical tights and a pair of pointed toepumps with comfortable heels will suffice. In case this mix is not trendyenough for you, my dears, you can also add a soft crossbody bag matching the shoesand contrasting earrings in a different color found on the sweater dress. Whatdo you think? Maybe you likeit even more if I tell you the total price: 110 euros! :)
Sweater dress: Nuovo Stile Italiano
Optical tights: Calzedonia
Pumps: Tata Italia
Soft crossbody bag: Promod
Stone earrings: Bijou Brigitte

I hope you enjoyedreading this post and the two looks can serve as inspiration for your own outfitsand future shopping sessions. I invite you to share your opinions in the commentsbelow. What did you like most? What did you like least? I’ll meet you here forthe third post of the series dedicated to the already ongoing season. I wishyou a colorful spring! See you soon! :)

Whether youare already enjoying warm spring days in your area or not, you might havepeeped at the latest fashion trends for the months to come so that you canpurchase some well-chosen garments that will help you update your wardrobe andlook. Have you already come up with some ideas? I have and I want to share twofashionable but also wearable looks with you today. The garments andaccessories I selected aren’t only beautiful but also pocket-friendly.

Few weeksago, I was invited by Modagenovaroma.com, the first local shopping website herein Genoa, Italy, to share some general ideas regarding the colours that will takeover the streets during the next season. Long story short, I mentioned thefollowing five main colours:

Aspen Goldor, simply put, yellow - in bright monochromatic outfits or only used oneye-catching accessories, this colour is the solution in case you are lookingfor a way to add some light and freshness to your look.

- the alreadyfamous Living Coral, which has officially been chosen the colour of the year byPantone Color Institute, brings in plenty of optimism and looks good on tannedskin - go for it if you’ve just come back to the city after the White Week onthe snow and you are ready to show off that glow!

- metallics- I’ve mentioned them so often in previous posts that I feel there’s nothingelse I could add without being boring.

- neutralearthy tones are feminine and refined and the right hues look awesome on almostall skin tones.

- khaki isa great choice for those of you who want to create outfits totally inspired bythe modern utility trend.

The blogpost to which I contributed is available in Italian at this link

As soon asI identified the colours of the coming season and with some general guidelinesregarding textures and other details in mind, I went on and started a thoroughonline research. My main goal consisted in finding the most fashionablegarments at the most convenient prices to mix in both original and wearablelooks. Are you curious to see the result? Stay tuned for a series of outfitscoming in the following weeks!

As for thisfirst post of the series, I focused on the appealing (at least, to me :) ) colour combos khaki-orange and ashgreen-living coral, and came up with two sporty-chic outfits.

On the onehand, there is this look built around a vinyl mini skirt and a pair of highplatform ankle boots accessorized with a black waist bag, which can also be wornas a shoulder bag, a black postman hat, statement hammered geometric metallicearrings, a pair of shades with orange lens and light metallic frames and ablack wristwatch with gold details from Capitola. Do you findit trendy? Don’t worry; it’s also pocket-friendly, just like I promised! Thetotal cost of this look amounts to less than 260 Euro. And there’s more: if youuse the code PUNTODISTILE on the Capitola website, you can get your Capitolawristwatch with 15% off! Why don’t you just have a look?
Use codePUNTODISTILE and get your Capitola wristwatch with 15% off

Biker bootsand vinyl skirt: PrettyLittleThingUSA
Jacket:Bershka
Watch:Capitola
All theother accessories: Zalando

On theother hand, the second outfit is all about the modern utility trend adapted tothe urban jungle. The fishnet top and bag and the living coral bandeau top notonly acknowledge the latest fashion trends, but also give an unexpected twistto an otherwise anonymous combo of cargo pants and multi-coloured "ugly" sneakers. The accessories are nothing but an excuse for further friskiness and colour.

If you arewondering how much money you need to get a similar look, here is the truth: thetotal cost of this one is lower than 290 euro. If you are looking to cut costs, you can use the code PUN15 in order to purchase the orange top (and/or anyother item you want) with 15% off on the Bright Swimwear website

Fishnetcrop top: Erachieti
Bandeautop: Bright Swimwear
Sneakers:Fila
Bag: Etsy
Cargo pantsand other accessories: Zalando

What willbe your favourite colour this spring? If solids simply aren’t for you, there’sno reason to worry: this season will be full of punk and pop details, colourfulbrush strokes and modern versions of tie-dye borrowed from the ’60s. We willtalk about them all in the next blog posts of the series dedicated to thisspring’s fashion trends.

The first days of a new year represent the time when we all make plans and decide to take advantage of the next twelve months in order to put into practice everything we haven’t done in the previous ones. We want to achieve more both personally and career-wise. But by the end of January, half of us forget all about these resolutions. I hope you fall into the other half but even if that’s not the case, I encourage you to do an easy exercise. Try to start from details with a minimum impact so that you can later move on to more significant changes

To start with, how would you feel if you could take your personal style to a whole new level, leaving behind the fear of catching other people’s attention in the wrong way? You could start by wearing an unusual colour at least for one day. You could choose an unexpected accessory and turn it into your personal mark or you could wear pattern apparel more often.

If you have already "checked" all the ideas mentioned above, it means you are all set for a bigger fashion challenge: wearing more patterns at the same time! If you’re not so sure about how you could mix them together, keep reading this post. I’ll provide you with some basic rules but remember: your own creativity and personal taste are two factors that take everything to a more personal and unique level.

In the following lines, I’m going to mention some aspects that you should consider when you choose the patterns to mix in your outfits and give you some examples:

1. The patterns in black and white, such as the classic houndstooth, are a first-rate starting point.

2. You may treat basic patterns like neutrals. Stripes, zebra and leopard are easy to mix with almost all the other prints, regardless of colour.

3. Graphic designs can be effortlessly mixed together and give a sense of order to the whole look.

4. A common element provides a sense of harmony and cohesion. It could be a colour or some other detail meant to create a pleasant optical effect, from the style in an abstract sense to fine details found on a second clothing item.

5. The patterns used in the same outfit can share the same colour palette but it is not necessary for all the exact colours to be found on all the printed clothing items.

6. Items with a matelassé effect or made in materials decorated with embossed designs create movement and volume without making the outfit look overwhelming.

7. Two or more complex patterns could actually look well in the same look if they are kept apart by means of a solid detail or insert.

8. The same print in alternating colours creates an elegant optic effect.

9. The same pattern in different sizes creates volume.

10. In order to get a refined chromatic harmony, the same pattern in complementary colours can be used in the same outfit.

11. A third pattern can easily be added to garments already decorated with two patterns

12. Pattern accessories add a moderate touch of colour.

13. Pattern garments with different textures give an unexpected twist to the overall look.

As you have probably noticed, when it comes to both circular patterns and graphic lines, the choice of colours is key and can make a significant difference between a lively look and a number of garments accidentally put together. Always choose patterns sharing at least one colour. For starters, you could create monochromatic looks with prints used on fabrics with different textures or opt for the same patterns in different sizes. Then, you can start introducing an increasing number of colours. Supposing you want to mix more than two patterns in the same outfit, remember neutral ones and, in case of complex ones, add a solid in order to create some space.

With these pieces of advice in mind, all you need is let yourself guided by your own creativity in order to add some colour and irony to your looks!
